For 50 years, the 24/7 restaurant 13 Coins welcomed late-night diners at its original location on Boren Avenue. Having to leave South Lake Union due to redevelopment, the restaurant has set up shop in a new space on King Street in Pioneer Square. The new location, with views of Centurylink Field, will open this Saturday, February 10. Owner Al Moscatel and crew have managed to preserve many of the original furnishings and vintage charm of the old location, including high-backed booths, modernist fixtures and captain’s chairs. The open kitchen will continue to serve food from the restaurant’s extensive 130-item menu. The first floor consists of a private dining area with room for up to 175 patrons, while the upper level is open for walk-ins. 13 Coins also has locations in Bellevue and Seatac.
