Seattle-based New Engen, a startup company focused on digital marketing platforms, recently moved into a new office at the Fourth & Battery Building in order to take advantage of its expanding workforce. The facility, previously occupied by Popcap Games, was already well-set for a tech company’s needs. The new office takes up the fifth and seventh floor of the building, totally about 35,000 sq ft for the company’s 120 Seattle employees, enough room for over double that amount. That benchmark should happen soon, as the company already doubled its workforce in 2018 and tripled its growth according to CEO David Atchison.
In its short history, New Engen, founded by former Zulily employees, has managed to attract top clients such as Walmart, Hershey, and Urban Outfitters. The firm previously occupied a three-story building near Pioneer Square that is slated for demolition. The new facility will include both screens and cameras for connecting different parts of the office, as well as soundproof “Zenbooths” for quiet space. The building is just down the street from Amazon, which in itself is a powerhouse in the marketing world. Atchison believes his platform, which uses a combination of machine learning and “people learning,” will thrive in an environment where marketers are being increasingly scrutinized for gathering private data. He claims his company’s models can still effectively reach customers “when we know nothing about them.”
